Description

This Tikka Masala Naan Pizza recipe combines the rich, spicy flavors of traditional chicken tikka masala with the convenience and comfort of naan bread and melted mozzarella cheese. Perfect for a quick and flavorful meal, this recipe uses leftover or store-bought tikka masala sauce and chicken, topped with fresh onions and finished with a tangy yogurt drizzle and cilantro garnish. It offers an easy way to enjoy a fusion of Indian and Italian-inspired cuisine in under 20 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale

Naan and Toppings

  • 2 large naan breads (leftover or store-bought)
  • 1 cup tikka masala sauce (leftover or store-bought)
  • 1 cup cooked chicken, chopped or shredded
  • 2 teaspoons curry powder (optional)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • ½ onion, thinly sliced
  • ⅔ cup shredded mozzarella cheese or more as needed

Yogurt Drizzle

  • ¼ cup plain yogurt
  • 23 tablespoons water or as needed
  • Fresh cilantro leaves (coriander leaves) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Place the naan breads evenly spaced on a large baking tray to prepare for topping.
  2. Prepare the chicken mixture: In a bowl, combine the cooked chicken with curry powder (if using), salt, and pepper. Add the thinly sliced onion and tikka masala sauce. Mix thoroughly to ensure all ingredients are evenly coated with the flavorful sauce.
  3. Assemble the pizzas: Evenly divide the chicken tikka masala mixture over each naan bread, spreading it out to cover the surface. Generously sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the top to create a cheesy layer.
  4. Bake the pizzas: Place the baking tray in the preheated oven and bake for 11-13 minutes, or until the cheese has melted beautifully and the pizza is heated through.
  5. Make the yogurt drizzle: While the pizzas bake, mix the plain yogurt with 2 tablespoons of water in a small bowl. Stir well to achieve a thin, drizzle-able consistency. Add more water if necessary.
  6. Serve and garnish: Once baked, remove the pizzas from the oven and drizzle the yogurt sauce over the top. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves and serve immediately to enjoy the blend of creamy, tangy, and spicy flavors.

Notes

  • You can use leftover cooked chicken or store-bought rotisserie chicken for convenience.
  • Adjust the amount of curry powder based on your spice preference or omit it if your tikka masala sauce is already flavorful enough.
  • Feel free to add extra vegetables such as bell peppers or tomatoes if desired.
  • If naan breads are thick, you can warm them slightly before assembling to ensure even heating.
  • Yogurt sauce can be substituted with raita or a cooling cucumber sauce for variety.
