Description

This Garlic Bread Grilled Cheese recipe combines the rich flavors of garlic butter and melty cheese layered between crisp sourdough slices. It’s a quick and easy twist on a classic grilled cheese sandwich, perfect for a comforting meal or snack with a flavorful garlicky boost.

Ingredients

Scale

Bread and Butter

  • 2 slices Sourdough Bread
  • 2 tablespoons Toum or TOOM Original Garlic Dip (for shortcut)
  • 2 tablespoons softened butter
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh garlic
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Cheese

  • ½ cup Havarti Cheese shredded (or another melty cheese of choice)
  • Additional option in instructions: mozzarella, cheddar, and provolone (amounts to equal ½ cup combined can be used)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Garlic Butter: Soften the butter and mix in the minced garlic and chopped parsley to create a flavorful garlic butter spread.
  2. Spread Garlic Butter: Spread the prepared garlic butter evenly on one side of each slice of sourdough bread.
  3. Add Cheese Layers: On the unbuttered side of the bread, layer shredded Havarti cheese or a combination of mozzarella, cheddar, and provolone to your preference.
  4. Heat Skillet: Heat a skillet over medium-low heat to ensure slow and even melting without burning the bread.
  5. Grill the Sandwich: Place the sandwiches buttered-side down onto the skillet, cooking until the bread is golden and the cheese begins to melt, then carefully flip and repeat for the other side.
  6. Press Sandwich: Lightly press the sandwich with a spatula during grilling to help the cheese melt evenly and the sandwich to hold together.
  7. Serve: Remove from skillet, slice the sandwich, and serve immediately to enjoy the gooey, cheesy pull and crispy garlic bread exterior.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic for the boldest, freshest garlic flavor in the butter.
  • Feel free to mix and match cheeses to suit your taste preferences and meltability.
  • Cook on low heat to allow the cheese to melt thoroughly without burning the bread.
  • If you want a shortcut, using TOOM Original Garlic Dip can save time without compromising flavor.
