Description

Crab Crescent Bites Delight is a savory appetizer featuring tender crab meat blended with creamy cheese and seasonings, all wrapped in flaky crescent roll dough and baked to golden perfection. This easy-to-make dish is perfect for parties, snacks, or a delightful starter.

Ingredients

Scale

Crab Filling

  • 240 g cooked crab meat, chopped (fresh, canned, or imitation)
  • 115 g cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) mayonnaise
  • 2 green onions, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon (4 g) Old Bay seasoning or seafood seasoning
  • 56 g shredded mozzarella or cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Dough

  • 1 can (226 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough

Garnish (optional)

  • Chopped parsley or paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure even baking.
  2. Prepare Crab Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, chopped crab meat, finely chopped green onions, Old Bay seasoning, shredded cheese, and a pinch of salt and pepper until all ingredients are well combined and the mixture is smooth and evenly blended.
  3. Assemble Crescents: Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into individual triangles. Place about 1 tablespoon of the crab filling at the wider end of each triangle, then carefully roll each triangle up into a crescent shape, enclosing the filling inside.
  4. Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the crescents turn a beautiful golden brown and the dough is cooked through.
  5. Garnish and Serve: When done, optionally sprinkle the baked crab crescent bites with chopped parsley or paprika for extra color and flavor. Serve warm as an appetizer or snack.

Notes

  • You can use fresh, canned, or imitation crab meat depending on availability and preference.
  • For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or hot sauce to the crab mixture.
  • Make sure the cream cheese is fully softened to mix easily with the other ingredients.
  • These bites can be prepared ahead of time and baked just before serving.
  • Substitute mozzarella or cheddar cheese based on your preference for a different flavor profile.
