Ingredients
Scale
Jalapeños
- 10 to 12 jalapeños, halved lengthwise and seeded
Filling
- 6 to 8 ounces brie cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1/3 cup blueberry preserves or fresh blueberries
Toppings
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon finely chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest (optional)
- Pinch of sea salt
Garnish
- Fresh thyme or parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (204°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
- Prepare Jalapeños: Slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise and carefully remove the seeds and membranes. Leave a few seeds if you prefer extra heat.
- Fill Peppers: Arrange the jalapeño halves cut-side up on the prepared baking sheet. Place a small cube of brie cheese inside the cavity of each jalapeño half.
- Add Blueberries: Spoon a small amount of blueberry preserves or place a few fresh blueberries over the brie-filled jalapeños to add sweetness and fruitiness.
- Drizzle and Sprinkle: Lightly drizzle honey over each popper. If using, sprinkle finely chopped walnuts or pecans, lemon zest, and a pinch of sea salt to enhance flavor complexity.
- Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the jalapeños have softened slightly and the brie has melted beautifully.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme or parsley if desired. Serve the poppers warm for the best flavor and texture experience.
Notes
- Adjust the spiciness by leaving more or fewer seeds in the jalapeños according to your heat preference.
- For an extra creamy texture, increase the amount of brie cheese used.
- Walnuts or pecans add texture and a nutty flavor but can be omitted for nut-free options.
- These poppers are best served warm but can be prepared ahead and reheated gently.
