Description

A refreshing and tropical Colombian Limonada de Coco (Coconut Limeade) made with just five simple ingredients. This creamy, tangy beverage blends coconut puree, fresh lime juice, condensed coconut milk, and water for a perfectly balanced, lightly sweetened drink. Ideal for hot days, it can be served chilled or frozen, garnished with fresh mint and shredded coconut for extra flair.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 300 grams Coconut Puree (3 packets)
  • 3.5 cups Filtered Water
  • 0.5 cup Condensed Coconut Milk
  • 4 whole Limes, juiced
  • 1 cup Ice

Optional Garnishes

  • 4 Fresh Mint Leaves
  • Shredded Coconut

Instructions

  1. Combine Coconut Puree and Lime Juice: In a blender, add one packet of coconut puree and the freshly squeezed juice of one lime per cup of limeade you want to prepare. This forms the base of your drink, balancing creamy coconut with tangy lime.
  2. Add Condensed Coconut Milk and Water: Pour in the condensed coconut milk and filtered water to the blender. Blend the mixture for 5-7 seconds until well combined and smooth to ensure an even flavor and creamy texture.
  3. Enhance Coconut Flavor: For additional coconut richness, toss in some shredded coconut to the blender. Blend briefly to incorporate it evenly into the limeade.
  4. Add Ice for Frozen Version: To make a frozen variant, add 2-3 ice cubes per serving to the blender, depending on desired iciness. Blend again until ice is crushed and the drink is smooth and chilled.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Pour the finished limeade over ice cubes in glasses. Garnish each glass with a sprig of fresh mint or a lime wedge along with a sprinkle of shredded coconut to enhance presentation and flavor.

Notes

  • The recipe uses coconut puree for a fresher, lighter taste compared to coconut milk.
  • Condensed coconut milk sweetens naturally and intensifies the coconut flavor better than sugar.
  • For an alcoholic version, add 1/4 shot (about 1/2 teaspoon) of coconut rum or light rum per cup before blending.
  • Store leftovers in a sealed container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days; flavors meld well when made a day ahead.
