Description

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with this delightful Chocolate Bark recipe featuring layers of rich dark chocolate, creamy white chocolate, and vibrant pink candy melts. Swirled together and adorned with festive heart-shaped candies and sprinkles, this treat is perfect for sharing or gifting.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layers

  • 1½ cups dark chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces (3 4-ounce bars) white chocolate baking bars
  • ¾ cup pink candy melts

Toppings

  • ¼ cup Valentine’s Day candy (such as heart-shaped candies or themed chocolates)
  • 2 tablespoons Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the baking pan: Line a half sheet baking pan with parchment paper, ensuring there is an overhang for easy removal of the bark later. Set aside.
  2. Melt dark chocolate: Place the dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir thoroughly, then continue heating in 15-20 second increments, stirring well each time until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Spread dark chocolate: Pour the melted dark chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper and spread it evenly into a thin layer using a spreading spatula.
  4. Set dark chocolate layer: Allow the dark chocolate to rest at room temperature for about 10 minutes until mostly set but still slightly soft to the touch.
  5. Melt white chocolate: Break the white chocolate bars into a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir well, then continue heating in short intervals with frequent stirring until completely smooth.
  6. Melt pink candy melts: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, heat the pink candy melts starting with 30 seconds, then continue in 15-20 second increments, stirring well after each until fully melted and smooth.
  7. Spread white chocolate: Pour the melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer and spread quickly, as it hardens fast.
  8. Drizzle pink melts: Before the white chocolate sets, drizzle the melted pink candy melts over the surface.
  9. Create marbled pattern: Use a toothpick to gently swirl through the pink and white layers to create a marbled effect, being careful not to disturb the dark chocolate below.
  10. Add toppings: While the chocolate is still warm, evenly sprinkle the Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles on top.
  11. Cool and harden: Allow the bark to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes or until completely hardened.
  12. Serve: Once set, break or cut the bark into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor and texture.
  • The parchment paper overhang makes removing the bark easier without breaking.
  • Swirling the pink and white layers while still soft creates a beautiful marbled appearance.
  • Store the chocolate bark in an airtight container at room temperature or in the refrigerator for longer freshness.
  • Customize toppings with your favorite seasonal candies or nuts for variety.
