Ingredients

Scale

Meat & Protein

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, chopped or shredded

Seasonings & Sauces

  • 1 jar (8 ounces) salsa
  • 3 tablespoons Homemade Taco Seasoning Mix (or one taco seasoning packet)
  • ¼ cup water
  • ⅓ cup Best Guacamole Recipe
  • ⅓ cup sour cream
  • ⅓ cup taco sauce (or salsa)

Cheese & Dairy

  • 12 cups Mexican blend cheese, shredded

Vegetables

  • 35 small colorful peppers
  • 1012 cherry tomatoes, diced
  • 2 cups shredded lettuce

Shells

  • 8 hard shells
  • 8 soft shells

Instructions

  1. Brown the Meat: In a skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until browned, draining any excess fat if necessary. Stir in 3 tablespoons of homemade taco seasoning and ¼ cup of water to coat the meat evenly, then add ½ jar of salsa to combine flavors.
  2. Simmer the Mixture: Allow the meat mixture to simmer gently for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. While the meat cooks, prepare your toppings by chopping vegetables, shredding lettuce, and setting out small bowls for condiments.
  3. Assemble the Board: Transfer the cooked and seasoned meat to a serving bowl and place it in the center of your serving tray. Arrange hard and soft taco shells on opposite sides of the tray. Surround the shells and meat with small bowls containing shredded chicken, cheeses, chopped peppers, diced tomatoes, shredded lettuce, guacamole, sour cream, and taco sauce. Include serving utensils for easy assembling. Serve immediately and let everyone build their perfect taco.
