Sweet Sumac Salmon is a perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and savory flavors. Coated in a mixture of sumac, brown sugar, and aromatic spices, this crispy-on-the-outside, tender-on-the-inside fish can be made in the oven or air fryer in minutes!

- 4 (6-ounce) skin-on salmon fillets
- 2 teaspoons ground sumac
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or air fryer to 370°F (188°C).
- Pat the salmon fillets dry with a paper towel.
- Mix together sumac, brown sugar, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
- Rub the mixture evenly over the tops of the fillets.
- Drizzle the olive oil over the seasoned fillets.
- For oven, bake for 12–15 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork. For air fryer, cook for 8–10 minutes until crispy outside and tender inside.
- Remove from oven or air fryer and serve immediately with your favorite sides.
Notes
- Pair with a light salad or roasted veggies.
- Adjust the amount of brown sugar or chili flakes to taste.
- Remove skin after cooking if preferred.
