Pico de Gallo, also known as Salsa Fresca, is a fresh, vibrant Mexican salsa made with chopped tomatoes, onions, cilantro, jalapeño, and lime juice. It’s the perfect topping or dip for tacos, grilled meats, or tortilla chips, and comes together in just minutes.

- 4 ripe Roma tomatoes, diced
- 1/2 medium white onion, finely chopped
- 1–2 jalapeño peppers, seeded and minced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1–2 tablespoons fresh lime juice (to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
Instructions
- In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, chopped onion, minced jalapeños, and chopped cilantro.
- Add lime juice and salt, then gently toss everything together until well mixed.
- Let the mixture sit for 10–15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Serve immediately or refrigerate for later use. Stir again before serving.
Notes
- Use ripe but firm tomatoes for best texture and flavor.
- Add more or fewer jalapeños based on your spice preference.
- Great as a topping for tacos, grilled chicken, or nachos.
- Best enjoyed fresh, but can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days.
