- 2 cups cold mashed potatoes
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour (plus extra as needed)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)
- 1 tbsp oil or butter for frying
- For the meat filling:
- 1/2 lb ground beef or ground chicken
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp oil for cooking meat
Instructions
- In a skillet over medium heat, add 1 tbsp oil and sauté chopped onion until translucent. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute.
- Add ground meat, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until meat is browned and fully cooked. Set aside to cool slightly.
- In a large bowl, combine mashed potatoes, egg, flour, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix until a soft dough forms. Add more flour if needed to firm it up.
- Divide the potato mixture into equal portions. Flatten each portion into a small disc in your hand.
- Spoon a small amount of the meat filling into the center of each disc and carefully fold the edges over to seal. Flatten gently into a pancake shape.
- Heat oil or butter in a skillet over medium heat. Cook pancakes for 3–4 minutes per side or until golden and crispy.
- Drain on paper towels and serve warm with sour cream or dipping sauce if desired.

- Use leftover mashed potatoes for convenience and flavor depth.
- You can prepare the meat filling in advance and refrigerate until ready to use.
