Ingredients
Scale
Sliders
- 2 lbs 80/20 ground beef
- 12 pack Hawaiian rolls
- 11 slices Colby jack cheese or American cheese
- 1 large sweet onion, diced
- 24 dill pickles
- 6 tablespoons butter
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cracked pepper
Easy Burger Sauce
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1.5 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
- 2 teaspoons pickled juice (from pickles)
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Prepare the beef mixture: In a large bowl, combine the 2 pounds of 80/20 ground beef with 1 teaspoon salt and 1 teaspoon cracked pepper. Mix gently to distribute the seasoning evenly but avoid overworking the meat to keep the patties tender.
- Form slider patties: Separate the Hawaiian rolls into top and bottom halves. Using the bottom halves as a size guide, form the ground beef into 12 equal-sized small patties, about the diameter of the rolls.
- Cook the patties: Heat a large skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Add 6 tablespoons butter to melt, then add the patties. Cook for about 3-4 minutes per side until browned and cooked through. During the last minute of cooking, place one slice of Colby jack or American cheese on each patty to melt.
- Prepare the burger sauce: In a small bowl, combine 1/2 cup mayonnaise, 1.5 tablespoons ketchup, 1 tablespoon yellow mustard, 2 teaspoons pickled juice, and 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper. Stir until smooth and set aside.
- Assemble the sliders: Spread a generous amount of the burger sauce on the bottom halves of the Hawaiian rolls. Place the cooked cheese-topped beef patties on top. Add diced sweet onion and two dill pickle slices per slider, then cover with the roll tops.
- Serve: Secure sliders with toothpicks if desired and serve immediately while warm for the best flavor and melty cheese experience.
Notes
- Using 80/20 ground beef ensures the sliders are juicy and flavorful.
- Butter in the pan adds richness and helps with browning the patties perfectly.
- The pickled juice in the sauce adds a nice tang that complements the sweetness of the Hawaiian rolls.
- Feel free to customize with additional toppings like lettuce, tomato, or bacon.
- These sliders are best enjoyed fresh but can be kept warm in a low oven for a short time before serving.
