Description

Fireball Cherry Bombs are a delightful and boozy treat combining the sweet, tart flavor of maraschino cherries soaked in spicy Fireball cinnamon whiskey, then coated in creamy white chocolate and finished with colorful sanding sugar. Perfect for parties, gifts, or a fun adult dessert.

Ingredients

Scale

Cherries and Soaking Liquid

  • 10 ounce jar maraschino cherries with stems
  • 1/4 cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey

Coating

  • 5 ounces white chocolate melting wafers (from a 10-ounce Ghirardelli package)
  • 1/4 cup colored sanding sugar sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare the cherries: Drain the jar of maraschino cherries, reserving 1/4 cup of the syrup. Combine the syrup with 1/4 cup Fireball cinnamon whiskey in a small bowl. Add the cherries and stems to the mixture and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to soak up the flavors.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat in 20-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  3. Coat the cherries: Using a fork or skewer, dip each soaked cherry individually into the melted white chocolate ensuring an even coating. Let excess chocolate drip off.
  4. Apply sanding sugar: Immediately after coating, roll or sprinkle each chocolate-covered cherry with colored sanding sugar before the chocolate sets to add a festive touch and texture.
  5. Set the cherries: Place the coated cherries on a parchment-lined tray and refrigerate until the white chocolate is firm, about 15–20 minutes.

Notes

  • Use cherries with stems for easier dipping and handling.
  • Soaking the cherries longer will intensify the Fireball flavor.
  • White chocolate melting wafers melt smoothly and harden nicely; avoid standard white chocolate bars unless tempered properly.
  • Colored sanding sugar adds both visual appeal and a slight crunch.
  • Store finished cherry bombs in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
