Ingredients
Scale
Wrapper Cups
- 24 wonton wrappers
Meat Filling
- ½ pound lean ground beef
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1½ tablespoons mild taco seasoning
Toppings
- 1 cup shredded fiesta blend cheese
- 1 cup shredded lettuce
- ½ cup guacamole
- ½ cup sour cream
- ½ cup pico de gallo
Instructions
- Preheat oven and prepare muffin tin: Preheat the oven to 375°F. Lightly spray a regular-size muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.
- Form wonton cups: Press one wonton wrapper into each muffin cup, then overlay with a second wrapper and press it firmly into the first to shape a cup that covers both the bottoms and sides. Repeat this process for all cups.
- Bake wonton cups: Bake the wonton cups for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown. Expect the tips to brown more deeply than the bases.
- Cook ground beef: While the wontons bake, heat a 1½ to 2-quart saucepan or skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and stir constantly, breaking it into small pieces until fully cooked and no pink remains.
- Add seasoning: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the taco seasoning and water. Simmer for a few minutes to combine flavors, then remove from heat.
- Fill wonton cups: Spoon about 1 tablespoon of the cooked taco meat into each baked wonton cup.
- Add cheese: Sprinkle approximately 1 tablespoon of shredded fiesta blend cheese evenly over the meat in each cup.
- Add lettuce: Top each cup with ½ to 1 tablespoon of shredded lettuce.
- Add guacamole: Spoon 1 to 1½ teaspoons of guacamole over the lettuce layer.
- Add sour cream: Place a teaspoon-sized dollop of sour cream in the center of the guacamole in each cup.
- Top with pico de gallo and serve: Finish by spooning 1 to 2 teaspoons of pico de gallo on top. Serve immediately for the best taste and texture.
Notes
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
- For easy removal of the wonton cups from the muffin tin, run a knife gently around the edge of each cup before lifting.
- The wonton cups are best served fresh to maintain their crispness.
