Ingredients
Scale
Shrimp Marinade
- ½ Juice from Lemon
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
Main Ingredients
- 400 g Large Argentinian Shrimp, peeled and dried
- 3 tablespoon Unsalted Butter
- 4 Garlic Cloves, minced
- 200 ml Tomato Sauce
- 500 ml Heavy Cream
- 300 g Linguine Pasta
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- Fresh Parsley, chopped
- Parmesan (optional), grated
- Fresh Basil (optional)
- Seasonings:
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Red Paprika Powder
- 1 teaspoon Smoked Paprika Powder
- 1 teaspoon Dried Oregano
Instructions
- Marinate the Shrimp: In a medium bowl, combine lemon juice, olive oil, garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano. Add the peeled and dried shrimp and toss well to coat evenly. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes to enhance flavor.
- Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the linguine pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually around 8-10 minutes. Drain the pasta, reserving a small cup of pasta water, and set aside.
- Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the marinated shrimp and sauté for 2-3 minutes per side until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside to prevent overcooking.
- Prepare the Garlic Tomato Cream Sauce: In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant but not browned. Pour in the tomato sauce and stir, cooking for 2-3 minutes. Slowly add the heavy cream, stirring constantly to combine into a creamy sauce. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add the additional garlic powder, red paprika powder, smoked paprika powder, and dried oregano for a balanced flavor.
- Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the cooked linguine pasta back into the skillet with the sauce, tossing gently to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a splash of reserved pasta water to loosen it up.
- Add Shrimp and Garnish: Return the cooked shrimp to the skillet and gently mix with the creamy pasta. Remove from heat and garnish with freshly chopped parsley. Optionally, sprinkle grated Parmesan and fresh basil leaves on top before serving.
- Serve: Plate the creamy shrimp linguine immediately while hot, ensuring each serving has a generous amount of shrimp and sauce for maximum flavor enjoyment.
Notes
- Marinate the shrimp for at least 15 minutes for maximum flavor infusion.
- Reserve some pasta water to adjust the sauce consistency if needed.
- Do not overcook shrimp to maintain their tender texture.
- Use fresh garlic for best flavor results in the sauce.
- Parmesan and fresh basil are optional but add an excellent finishing touch.
