- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup toffee bits (such as Heath bits)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well until combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips, shredded coconut, and toffee bits.
- Spread the dough evenly into the prepared baking pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Allow the bars to cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Let the bars cool fully before cutting for clean slices.
- For a nutty twist, add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans or walnuts.
