Description

A creamy, spicy, and cheesy chili cheese dip that’s perfect for parties or game day. Made with hearty chili, cream cheese, shredded cheese, and a splash of salsa for extra flavor, this dip brings the perfect balance of heat and creaminess to your snack table.

Ingredients

Scale

Chili Base

  • 2 1/2 cups homemade chili, or 2 (14 oz) cans store-bought chili (625g)

Dairy and Cheese

  • 4 ounces cream cheese, cut into cubes (113g)
  • 2 cups shredded cheese, a mix of pepper jack and sharp cheddar (226g)

Additional Flavorings

  • 1/4 cup salsa (60g)
  • Cayenne pepper or hot sauce, optional, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a medium saucepan over medium heat, add the chili and cream cheese cubes. Stir continuously until the cream cheese is fully melted and incorporated into the chili, creating a smooth, creamy base.
  2. Add Shredded Cheese: Gradually stir in the shredded pepper jack and sharp cheddar cheeses. Continue stirring until all the cheese is melted and the dip is smooth and gooey.
  3. Mix in Salsa: Stir in the salsa to add a tangy flavor and a bit of moisture, blending it well into the cheese and chili.
  4. Season to Taste: Add cayenne pepper or hot sauce incrementally if you want extra heat. Stir well and taste to adjust the spiciness.
  5. Serve Warm: Transfer the dip to a serving bowl or keep it warm on the stovetop over very low heat. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, crackers, or veggies.

Notes

  • You can use fresh homemade chili or canned chili depending on convenience.
  • Feel free to adjust the cheese ratio or types based on your taste preference.
  • If the dip becomes too thick, add a splash of milk or extra salsa to loosen it.
  • For a slower party option, keep the dip warm in a small slow cooker on low.
  • To make it less spicy, omit the cayenne pepper or hot sauce.
