- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, garlic powder, and black pepper.
- Stir in the shredded cheddar cheese until evenly distributed.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, melted butter, and egg.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry and stir just until combined—do not overmix.
- Transfer the batter to the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely or serve warm.
