Ingredients
Scale
Base
- 250g plain biscuits, crushed
- 50g butter, melted
Chocolate Mixture
- 2 blocks Caramilk chocolate (180g each), chopped
- 1 can sweetened condensed milk (395g)
Toppings
- Desiccated coconut
- Chopped nuts
- Sprinkles
- Melted chocolate (for coating)
Instructions
- Prepare the biscuit base: Crush the plain biscuits into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin. Melt the butter in a microwave or on stovetop and mix it thoroughly with the biscuit crumbs to create a cohesive base.
- Make the chocolate mixture: In a heatproof bowl, combine the chopped Caramilk chocolate blocks with the condensed milk. Gently melt this mixture over a double boiler or in short bursts in the microwave, stirring frequently until smooth and fully combined.
- Combine base and chocolate: Pour the melted Caramilk and condensed milk mixture over the biscuit base mixture. Stir well to combine all ingredients into a thick, sticky dough suitable for shaping.
- Shape truffles: Once the mixture is cool enough to handle but not set, roll spoonfuls into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the truffles on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
- Add toppings: Roll truffles in your preferred toppings such as desiccated coconut, chopped nuts, or sprinkles. Alternatively, dip them in melted chocolate for a glossy coating. Allow the coatings to set.
- Chill: Refrigerate the truffles for at least 2 hours or until firm. This helps them set properly and enhances the flavors.
- Serve and store: Serve chilled or at room temperature. Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
Notes
- You can substitute plain biscuits with graham crackers or digestive biscuits for a different texture.
- Ensure the chocolate mixture is not overheated to prevent burning or separation.
- Experiment with different toppings to customize the appearance and taste of your truffles.
- For a firmer texture, add a bit more crushed biscuits or refrigerate longer before rolling.
- Truffles can be frozen for up to 1 month; thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
