Bubblegum Mint Infused Simple Syrup
- 10 pieces bubble gum, divided
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- Pink food coloring (optional)
Bubblegum Mojito Cocktail
- 3 ounces bubblegum mint infused simple syrup
- 3 ounces rum
- 3 ounces fresh lime juice
- 6 ounces carbonated soda water
- Fresh mint leaves
- Pink colored sugar
- Cocktail skewers
Instructions
- Prepare the Bubblegum Mint Infused Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 10 pieces of bubble gum, 2 tablespoons of corn syrup, and about 1 cup of water. Heat gently over low heat, stirring often until the gum dissolves completely and the mixture is syrupy. If desired, add a few drops of pink food coloring to enhance the bubblegum effect. Strain the syrup to remove any gum residue and let it cool.
- Muddle the Mint: Place a handful of fresh mint leaves into a sturdy glass or cocktail shaker. Gently muddle the mint with a muddler to release its aromatic oils without tearing the leaves.
- Mix the Cocktail: Add 3 ounces of the cooled bubblegum mint infused simple syrup, 3 ounces of rum, and 3 ounces of fresh lime juice into the glass or shaker with the muddled mint. Stir or shake lightly to blend the flavors.
- Add Carbonation: Pour 6 ounces of carbonated soda water into the mixture and gently stir to combine without losing the bubbles.
- Prepare the Glass Rim: Lightly moisten the rim of your serving glass and dip it into pink colored sugar to coat the rim for a festive touch.
- Garnish and Serve: Pour the cocktail into the prepared glass. Garnish with fresh mint sprigs on top and use cocktail skewers to add a small piece of bubble gum as a playful decoration. Serve immediately and enjoy the fun and refreshing Bubblegum Mojito.
Notes
- The bubblegum mint infused simple syrup can be prepared in advance and stored refrigerated for up to one week.
- Adjust the amount of simple syrup and lime juice to your taste preference for sweetness or tartness.
- Ensure to use fresh lime juice for the best flavor.
- For a stronger bubblegum flavor, add more bubble gum pieces when making the syrup, but be careful not to overheat and burn the syrup.
- Pink food coloring is optional and mainly used for aesthetic enhancement.
- Non-alcoholic version can be made by omitting the rum and increasing soda water with a splash of additional lime juice.
