Ingredients
Scale
Truffle Mixture
- 2 cups white chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Blue Curacao
Coating
- 1/2 cup sanding sugar
Instructions
- Melt the White Chocolate: Place the white chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Heat the heavy cream until just simmering and pour over the chocolate. Let it sit for a minute, then gently stir until the chocolate is completely smooth and melted.
- Add Blue Curacao: Stir the Blue Curacao into the melted white chocolate mixture until evenly combined. The mixture should be thick but smooth.
- Chill the Mixture: Cover the bowl and refrigerate the mixture for about 1 to 2 hours, or until firm enough to scoop and shape.
- Form Truffles: Using a small spoon or melon baller, scoop out small portions of the chilled mixture and roll them quickly between your palms to form smooth balls.
- Coat with Sanding Sugar: Roll each truffle in the sanding sugar until fully coated, giving them a sparkling, festive appearance.
- Chill Again: Place the coated truffles on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and refrigerate for an additional 30 minutes to set completely before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the white chocolate is finely chopped if not using chips to ensure even melting.
- If Blue Curacao is unavailable, substitute with a similar orange-flavored liqueur or blue food coloring with a splash of orange extract.
- Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
- For a non-alcoholic version, omit the Blue Curacao and add orange zest or flavored extract.
