Description

This Beef Taco Ring is a fun and delicious way to enjoy classic taco flavors with a crispy crescent roll crust. Ground beef seasoned with taco spices is cooked and layered with melted cheddar cheese, then wrapped in crescent dough and baked to golden perfection. Served with fresh lettuce, guacamole, and salsa on the side, it’s perfect for parties or a family meal.

Ingredients

Scale

Dough

  • 2 cans refrigerated crescent rolls
  • 1 teaspoon olive oil

Filling

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 package taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Toppings & Garnishes

  • Shredded lettuce
  • Guacamole
  • Salsa

Instructions

  1. Heat the Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat to prepare for browning the meat.
  2. Cook the Ground Beef: Add ground beef and taco seasoning to the skillet. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the meat is fully browned and cooked through. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C) to prepare for baking the taco ring.
  4. Arrange Crescent Dough: On an ungreased large cookie sheet, arrange the crescent dough triangles in a ring shape with the short sides forming a 6-inch circle in the center. The dough triangles should overlap slightly.
  5. Add Filling and Cheese: Spoon the cooked ground beef over the wider sections of the crescent dough, close to the center of the ring. Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
  6. Fold the Dough: Bring each tip of the crescent dough triangles up over the filling, tucking them under the bottom layer of dough to securely enclose the filling.
  7. Bake the Taco Ring: Place the cookie sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Cool Slightly: Remove the taco ring from the oven and allow it to cool for about 5 minutes to set before slicing.
  9. Serve with Dips: Place a bowl of guacamole and salsa in the center of the ring for dipping by guests.
  10. Garnish: Sprinkle shredded lettuce over or around the taco ring, if desired, for a fresh crunch and visual appeal.

Notes

  • Fill the center of the ring with homemade guacamole and fresh salsa for extra flavor.
  • Use refrigerated crescent rolls for convenience, but homemade dough can be substituted.
  • The taco ring can be customized with additional toppings such as diced tomatoes, jalapeños, or sour cream.
  • Let the taco ring cool slightly before slicing to maintain its shape.
