- 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken and barbecue sauce until fully coated.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle (about 12×16 inches).
- Spread the BBQ chicken evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
- Top with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, red onion, and cilantro if using.
- Carefully roll up the dough from the long side to form a log, pinching the edges to seal.
- Transfer the stromboli seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the top with olive oil and the beaten egg, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Cut small slits across the top for ventilation and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
Notes
- For added flavor, add chopped jalapeños or bell peppers inside the filling.
- You can substitute mozzarella with provolone or Monterey Jack cheese.
