Description

  • 1 lb pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)
  • 2 cups cooked chicken, shredded
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine shredded chicken and barbecue sauce until fully coated.
  3. Roll out the pizza dough on a lightly floured surface into a large rectangle (about 12×16 inches).
  4. Spread the BBQ chicken evenly over the dough, leaving a 1-inch border on all sides.
  5. Top with mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, red onion, and cilantro if using.
  6. Carefully roll up the dough from the long side to form a log, pinching the edges to seal.
  7. Transfer the stromboli seam-side down onto the prepared baking sheet.
  8. Brush the top with olive oil and the beaten egg, then sprinkle with garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  9. Cut small slits across the top for ventilation and bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
  10. Let it cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving warm.
