- 1.5 lbs flank steak
- 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
- 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
- Fresh basil leaves
- Balsamic glaze, for drizzling
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
- Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
- Remove steak from marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
- Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
- Arrange sliced steak on a serving platter. Top with tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and fresh basil leaves.
- Drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled Caprese steak.
- Serve immediately and enjoy!

- For extra flavor, add fresh cracked black pepper after grilling.
