Description

A deliciously marinated flank steak grilled to perfection and topped with fresh Caprese ingredients — ripe tomatoes, creamy mozzarella, and fragrant basil — drizzled with balsamic glaze for a perfect balance of flavors.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs flank steak
  • 1/4 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • 2 large ripe tomatoes, sliced
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Balsamic glaze, for drizzling

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together balsamic vinegar, olive oil, garlic, salt, and pepper.
  2. Place the flank steak in a resealable bag or shallow dish and pour marinade over it. Marinate for at least 2 hours or overnight in the refrigerator.
  3. Preheat grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove steak from marinade and grill for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until desired doneness.
  5. Let steak rest for 5 minutes before slicing thinly against the grain.
  6. Arrange sliced steak on a serving platter. Top with tomato slices, mozzarella slices, and fresh basil leaves.
  7. Drizzle balsamic glaze over the assembled Caprese steak.
